China Clay

Kaolin · White Clay · Hydrous Kaolin

A soft, white hydrous aluminium silicate drawn from our own Nagaur leases. High fusion temperature and chemical inertness keep it bright through firing, which is why it carries the whiteness in whiteware bodies and glazes.

Ball Clay

Plastic Clay

Fine-grained and sedimentary — kaolinite bound with mica and quartz. It gives a body the plasticity and green strength to be thrown, cast and handled long before it ever sees a kiln, drawn from the same Nagaur workings as our china clay.

Feldspar

Potash & Soda

The flux. Feldspar lowers the vitrification point and forms the glassy phase that makes a fired body dense, hard and translucent. We supply both potash (K-spar) and soda (Na-spar) grades from the same Nagaur belt.

Quartz

Silica

Crystalline silica — the skeleton. It holds dimensional stability through firing and cooling, controls thermal expansion, and carries the body's hardness. Supplied as lumps, grits and powder.
